The article noted that whiskey sales are rising. People are finding different ways to drink spirits.<\/p>\n<p>Mixologists (liquid chefs, bartenders) are experimenting with different ingredients to combine with high alcohol spirits.\u00a0 \u201cDrink mixologists enjoy finding more and more ways to complement the whiskey flavor with a plethora of other ingredients, whether its syrups, fruit juices, vermouth or even tea.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>At <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eastsidedistilling.com\">Eastside Distilling<\/a>\u00a0 in Portland, Earles, CEO is quoted, \u201cPeople are drinking less wine and more whiskey, and women have become more inclined to give whiskey a try,\u201d Eastside Distilling uses an array of ingredients in their cocktails. Check out the recipes below for ideas.<\/p>\n<p><b>\u2022\u00a0Earl\u2019s Demise<\/b><br \/>\n25 oz. Cherry Bomb Whiskey (one 750ML bottle)<br \/>\n12.5 oz. Burnside Bourbon<br \/>\n75 oz. Smith Teamaker Earl Grey Tea (chilled)<br \/>\n25 oz. Orange juice<br \/>\n25 oz. Simple syrup<br \/>\n12.5 oz. Sweet vermouth<br \/>\n5 tablespoons Peychaud\u2019s Bitters<\/p>\n<p>Mix all the ingredients in a large punch bowl, then add ice or ice ring. Serve in small punch glasses. The mixture serves 10-12 people.<\/p>\n<p><b>\u2022\u00a0The Sideburn<\/b><br \/>\n1 \u00bd oz. Burnside Whiskey<br \/>\n\u00be oz. Aperol<br \/>\n\u00bd oz. Solerno Blood Orange Liqueur<br \/>\n1 oz. Fresh lemon juice<br \/>\n\u00bd oz. lavender simple syrup<br \/>\n13 oz. Old Fashioned glass over ice<\/p>\n<p>Fill a 14 oz. rocks glass with ice, add all the other ingredients and stir.<\/p>\n<p><b>\u2022\u00a0Eastside Civil War<\/b><br \/>\n1 \u00bd oz. Burnside Bourbon<br \/>\n\u00bd oz. Cocchi Torino Sweet Vermouth<br \/>\n\u00bd oz. Cynar<br \/>\n2 dashes Fee Brothers Old Fashion Bitters<br \/>\nAmarena cherry<\/p>\n<p>Add all the ingredients, except the cherry, to a 16 oz. mixing glass (pint glass). Fill to within 1 inch of the top with ice. Stir until chilled and strain into a martini glass. Garnish with an Amarena cherry.<\/p>\n<p><b>\u2022\u00a0Marionberry Beret<\/b><br \/>\n1.5 oz. Marionberry Whiskey<br \/>\n.5 oz. Dry Curacao<br \/>\n2 oz.
