Barn Quilt at Grand River Cellars<\/p><\/div>\n

Previously I have written about quilt trails that have included wineries as part of their trail. In particular Lake County in California has a notable quilt trail. However\u00a0we recently learned that, based on the information available, the first barn quilt block was hung in Ohio.<\/p>\n

Last month while visiting wineries in Ohio, I came across another quilt trail. Several\u00a0wineries in Ashtabula County are members\u00a0of the Ashtabula County Barn Quilt Trail.<\/p>\n

It’s fun\u00a0searching out the unique when traveling and just adds another dimension to your trips. When visiting wineries look for quilt blocks attached to the sides of buildings especially old barn siding. To be on the quilt trail in Ashtabula, \u00a0quilt blocks must be either 4×4 feet or 8×8 feet.<\/p>\n

Watch the Date:<\/em> In May, 2016, Suzi Parron, author of Barn Quilts and the American Quilt Trail <\/i>is scheduled to present about the American Barn Quilt Trail Movement. Program is free.<\/p>\n
