Although most vineyards shed their leaves, the fifty-year old vines at David Hill Winery showcased bright yellows. On a cloudy day it provided a ray of sunshine. There were pumpkins at every winery we visited. The pumpkin that caught my attention as symbolic of Thanksgiving in wine country was at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youngberghill.com\">Youngberg Hill Vineyards and Inn<\/a> in McMinnville. Painted on the pumpkin was a wine bottle, glass of wine and bunch of grapes. What better way to say Happy Thanksgiving?<\/p>\n<p>Spending Thanksgiving in Oregon provides a wonderful opportunity for pairing traditional Thanksgiving foods and Oregon wines. While in the\u00a0Willamette Valley, we chose a Pinot Gris,\u00a0Gew\u00fcrztraminer, and four Pinot Noirs for our family Thanksgiving celebration.
