Check out the recipe below that uses apple wine as one of the ingredients. This recipe was provided by LaBelle Winery in New Hampshire. Be sure to visit the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.labellewinerynh.com\">LaBelle website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><b>Butternut Squash Apple Soup<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Servings: 8<\/p>\n<p><i>Ingredients<\/i><\/p>\n<p>2 tablespoons (\u00bc stick) butter<br \/>\n1 large onion, chopped<br \/>\n\u00bd teaspoon ground nutmeg<br \/>\n1 teaspoon ground cinnamon<br \/>\n4\u00bc pounds butternut squash, peeled, seeded, &amp; cut into chunks<br \/>\n4\u00bc cups vegetable or chicken broth<br \/>\n2 Macintosh, Gala, or Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, diced<br \/>\n1 cup LaBelle Winery Granite State Apple Wine<br \/>\nDash Cayenne Pepper<br \/>\nOptional: Sour cream<br \/>\nCarmelized Apple Slices for Garnish<\/p>\n<p><i>Directions<\/i><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Melt butter in large pot over medium-high heat. Add onion, cinnamon &amp; nutmeg; saut\u00e9 until onion begins to brown, about 5 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Add squash, broth, apples and LaBelle Winery Granite State Apple Wine. Bring to boil; reduce heat and simmer uncovered until squash and apples are tender, about 30 minutes. Add dash of cayenne.<\/li>\n<li>Puree with a hand blender in the pot or working in batches, puree soup in blender until smooth. Return soup to pot. Season to taste with salt and pepper.<\/li>\n<li>Bring soup to simmer, thinning with more broth or wine, if desired.<\/li>\n<li>Ladle soup into bowls. Garnish with sour cream and carmelized apples. (To make these, put thin slices of apples in a saute with brown sugar and a pat of butter and cook until carmelized, maybe 10 minutes.)
