The purpose of the challenge is to discover the most glorious appetizer to pair with the winery\u2019s Sonoma Brut sparkling wine. This year, they received 1,700 entries. Of all these entries, the top three were selected from each region based on originality, perceived taste appeal and perceived wine pairing with the Sonoma Brut.<\/p>\n<p>During September 2016, these semi-finalists will compete in a series of cook-offs in different parts of the country. Wine enthusiasts and foodies can attend the semi-final cook-offs. These regional events will take place in:<\/p>\n<p>Los Angeles, California \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Friday, September 16th \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Crafted Kitchen<\/p>\n<p>Washington DC \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Thursday, September 22nd \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Union Kitchen<\/p>\n<p>Austin, Texas \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Saturday, September 24th \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Sustainable Food Center<\/p>\n<p>Those interested in attending these events may purchase tickets ($25 per person) on the Gloria Ferrer Glorious Bites\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.gloriousbites.com\/home\/\" target=\"_blank\">website<\/a>. There is a $5.00 discount for members of the Cuv\u00e9e Club.<\/p>\n<p>Kathy and I are going to attend the event in Washington DC. and look forward to an evening of wine, food and the competition.<\/p>\n<p>The winners of these regional events will compete on Saturday, October 15th at Gloria Ferrer Caves &amp; Vineyards in Sonoma, California. The winner will receive $5,000.<\/p>\n<p>The first year for the Glorious Bites Challenge was in 2015.
