On our final day with e-Spain<\/a> and Washington State University Viticulture and Enology<\/a> wine tour to Portugal, we visited the Council of Vinho Verde located in Porto. The Council provided a presentation and a wine tasting of Vinho Verde wines. Before the wine presentation, we were taken on a tour of the landscaped garden overlooking the Douro River.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The presentation was informative and friendly. Colorful slides helped to provide information about the terroir, grape varieties and the characteristics of the wine.<\/p>\n

After the presentation, we enjoyed a delightful private concert of Fado music by one of Portugal\u2019s famed musicians Rita Ruivo.<\/p>\n

We knew we would\u00a0miss our many new friends who participated in the Portugal wine tour, and hope to meet up with them again in future wine travels.<\/p>\n

We stayed an extra two days in\u00a0 <\/span>Porto so we could visit more of the many Port lodges in the city.<\/p>\n
