Appetizers are usually petite-size and provide an excellent wine friendly experience and can be as formal or as informal as you want. Appetizers are perfect for almost any celebration and provide excellent conversation starters.<\/p>\n<p>Currently the Wine Trail Traveler website <a href=\"http:\/\/winetrailtraveler.com\/recipes\/food.php\">recipe section<\/a> offers 14 different appetizer recipes. The recipes use wine as an ingredient. \u00a0These recipes include stuffed mushrooms, fondue and cocktail meatball recipes. To get you started below is one of the recipes for stuffed mushrooms. Enjoy!<\/p>\n<p>Cheers!<\/p>\n<p>Kathy<\/p>\n<p><strong>Stuffed Mushroom Caps<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>16 large mushrooms, cleaned<br \/>\n2 T extra virgin olive oil<br \/>\n1 clove garlic, pressed<br \/>\n1\/4 c white wine<br \/>\n1\/2 c shredded Parmesan cheese<br \/>\n1\/2 stick butter melted<br \/>\n1 small onion, chopped fine<br \/>\n1 c bread crumbs<br \/>\n1\/4 c chicken broth<br \/>\nFresh parsley, finely chopped<\/p>\n<p><strong>Directions<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1. Remove mushroom stems and set aside.<br \/>\n2. Melt 1\/2 stick of butter in 9&#8243; x 12&#8243; baking dish and top with mushroom caps. Chop the mushroom stems.<br \/>\n3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil and add mushroom stems, garlic and onion. Saute over medium heat, about 3-4 minutes.<br \/>\n4. Add wine and chicken broth. Fold in breadcrumbs, parmesan cheese and parsley. Remove from heat. Mound the mixture into each of the mushroom caps.<br \/>\n5. Bake 20 minutes at 350 degrees, broiling for about 1 minute at the end to crisp the tops.
