Sangria is a great summer time beverage. Fruity and full of life Sangria provides a delightful drink for the patio or porch.\u00a0 Sangrias can be made with red or white wine.\u00a0We have discovered Sangria recipes and posted them on the Wine Trail Traveler recipe section<\/span><\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n

Hint: Especially with hot weather drink plenty of water when enjoying alcoholic beverages.<\/p>\n

Texas Legato Sangria <\/strong>(using Merlot)
\n<\/strong>provided by Texas Legato<\/span><\/a><\/span>, Lampasas, Texas<\/p>\n

Ingredients<\/strong><\/p>\n

2 cups Texas Legato Sweet Surrender (a Merlot)
\n2 cups Cranberry Juice
\n2 cups Sprite
\n1\u00bd cups Orange Juice
\nAdd any fruit you enjoy<\/p>\n

Viognier Sangria<\/strong>
\nProvided by Chumeia Vineyards<\/span><\/a><\/span>, Paso Robles, California.<\/p>\n

Ingredients<\/strong><\/p>\n

One Bottle Chumeia Viognier
\n\u00bd c each white grape juice, apple juice, orange juice
\n\u00bc c Spanish brandy
\n\u00bc c Triple Sec
\n2 shots Gin
\n1 c Citrus flavored soda (Sprite or 7-up)<\/p>\n

For garnish: cut \u00bc\u201d pieces of red apple, orange rind, green apple and lemon rind.<\/p>\n

Directions<\/strong><\/p>\n

1. Mix wine, fruit juices, brandy, triple sec and gin together. Chill mixture.
\n2. Add citrus soda and garnish just before serving.<\/p>\n

Pickering Winery Sangria <\/strong>(made with Marechal Foch)
\nProvided by Pickering Winery<\/span><\/a><\/span>, Pennsylvania<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ingredients<\/strong><\/p>\n

1\/2 bottle of Marechal Foch
\n1\/2 lemon sliced
\n1\/2 orange sliced
\n1\/2 apple sliced
\n1\/4 c sugar
\n2 shots Gin
\n16 oz Ginger Ale<\/p>\n

Directions<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Mix wine, sugar, Gin and Ginger Ale until sugar is dissolved.<\/li>\n
  2. Add fruit<\/li>\n
  3. Chill<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Some wineries produce bottled Sangria. The next time you visit your local winery, check and see if they have one available.<\/p>\n
