Most of the wineries are open to the public. All of the wineries participate in Maryland Wine website at http://www.marylandwine.com. Many Maryland wineries can belong to one of the five Maryland wine trails.

A sixth wine trail is most unusual as it is shared between by 23 wineries in Pennsylvania and Maryland. The Mason Dixon Wine Trail is long and deserves to be visited for several days. According to one person we spoke with, it may be the only wine trail in the US that is shared between two states. This is cooperation between states at its best.

The other Maryland wine trails include the Carroll Wine Trail with five wineries. Twelve Maryland wineries belong to the Chesapeake Wine Trail. The Frederick Wine Trail has seven wineries and he Patuxent Wine Trail includes seven wineries in Southern Maryland. The wineries on the Piedmont Trail are located in Harford County and Baltimore County. Nine wineries are part of this wine trail.

Numerous wine events are coming up for the holidays at some of the individual wineries in Maryland.

Check these wineries websites for specific information about these holiday events.

Berrywine Plantations | Linganore Winecellars
Holiday Desserts
ends November 30

Dove Valley Winery
Sip n Shop
November 16

Port of Leonardtown Winery
Mulled Sundays
November 18, 25

Sugarloaf Mountain Vineyard
Black Friday Sale
November 23 -25

Harford Vineyard
Go Local for the Holidays Event
Nov 24 & 25 Dec 1,2, 8,9,15,16,22&23

Boordy Vineyards
Wine Country Christmas
December 1, 8, 22

Dove Valley Winery
Holiday Barrel Tasting & Christmas Bazaar
December 1, 2

Berrywine Plantations | Linganore Winecellars
Holiday Desserts II
December 1 – December 31

Elk Run Vineyards and Winery
Dickens Open House
December 1, 2

Layton’s Chance Vineyard and Winery
Christmas Market
December 2

Sugarloaf Mountain Vineyard
Photos with Santa Paws
December 8

Snowflake Festival
Detour Vineyard and Winery
December 15

Cheers!
