You can be as casual or elaborate as you like. It will undoubtedly be appreciated.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 1: Decide on the location for your Father\u2019s Day Picnic<\/strong><br \/>\nIs it better to plan the picnic at a park, on a walking trail, your father\u2019s home or your own home? Consider where your father will be most comfortable and have the most fun. If it is a county, state or National Park, call ahead to see if alcohol is allowed. When planning to picnic at a winery, call and find out if bringing outside food in is okay. (If you plan to enjoy a glass of wine be sure to purchase it from the winery. By law wineries are not allowed to have another winery\u2019s wine consumed on their property.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 2: Select the time of day:<\/strong> Things to consider are the expected temperatures for the day, insect risks (mosquitoes seem to be most annoying towards evening.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 3: Plan the picnic basket.<\/strong> Keep it light to make it easier to carry.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Food suggestions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bite size carrots<\/li>\n<li>Grape tomatoes<\/li>\n<li>Celery sticks<\/li>\n<li>Crackers<\/li>\n<li>Cheese<\/li>\n<li>Small sandwiches<\/li>\n<li>Green salad<\/li>\n<li>Pretzels<\/li>\n<li>Fried chicken<\/li>\n<li>Fruits (watermelon, cantaloupes, apples, peaches, plums<\/li>\n<li>Wine or perhaps Sangria (one of our favorite Sangria recipes is below.)<\/li>\n<li>Water<\/li>\n<li>Juice<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Step 4. What Else to Bring<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cork screw<\/li>\n<li>A blanket or two<\/li>\n<li>Insect spray<\/li>\n<li>Trash bags<\/li>\n<li>Napkins<\/li>\n<li>Light weight plates<\/li>\n<li>Wine glasses<\/li>\n<li>A cooler with ice<\/li>\n<li>Water glasses<\/li>\n<li>Towels (for cleanup)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Savoy-Lee Sangria<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Ingredients<\/em><\/p>\n<p>1 bottle of Savoy-Lee Johnson Mountain Picnic Blush Wine or dry fruity ros\u00e9<br \/>\n1 lemon, cut into wedges<br \/>\n1 orange, cut into wedges<br \/>\n1 lime, cut into wedges<br \/>\n2 T sugar<br \/>\n1 small can of diced pineapple (with juice)<br \/>\n1 small container of sliced, sweetened frozen strawberries (thawed)<br \/>\n2-4 c of ginger ale (preference)<\/p>\n<p><em>Directions<\/em><\/p>\n<p>1. Pour Savoy-Lee Johnson Mountain Picnic Blush Wine in a pitcher and squeeze the juice wedges from the lemon, orange and lime into the wine.<br \/>\n2. Toss in the fruit wedges (leaving out seeds) and pineapple then add sugar.<br \/>\n3. Mix well.<br \/>\n4. Chill overnight.<br \/>\n5. Add strawberries and ginger ale just before serving.<br \/>\n6.
