Title: Raisin Wine Cookies


1 c butter, softened
1 ½ c sugar
2 eggs
½ c red wine
1 t baking soda
2 t baking powder
4 ½ c flour
1 t vanilla
1 c raisins
1 c chopped walnuts

Note: The wine you choose to use will affect the color of these cookies. We used Vincent, a very dark purple wine. It made the cookies blue. The flavor was great. If you are concerned about the cookie color, consider using a white wine.


Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  1. Beat softened butter and sugar until well blended.
  2. Add two eggs and beat.
  3. Add vanilla.
  4. Add wine.
  5. Mix flour, baking soda and baking powder together.
  6. Add slowly until mixed well.
  7. Add raisins and walnuts.
  8. Drop by spoonfuls on to greased cookie sheet.
  9. Bake about 12 minutes.
