Iluminatus on Tour

One advantage to making a barrel of wine is that you have a supply for gifts. This photo was taken in Prosser, Washington. Sunrise in the Horse Heaven Hills sillouetts grain silos and provides a background for our 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon. We spent the last week of September with Don and Linda Mercer on their ranch. They are a delightful and friendly couple whom we met on our 2010 trip to New Zealand.

Our favorite restaurant in the Detroit area is Bucci Ristorante in Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan. My brother, Tim took a case of the 2009 Illuminatus to the restaurant. We opened two bottles and were interested in the comments from the staff. All comments were very positive. The chef, Salvadore, enjoyed the wine and at one point walked to where we were sitting at the counter facing the kitchen, borrowed a bottle of the Illuminatus and poured some of it into a dish he was preparing. Fabulous!
