New Jersey Wine Law May be Changing for the Better

A few states around the country have been known to uphold and promote Prohibition-style legislation however the New Jersey legislature is considering a bill that will allow wine shipping to consumers. This month New Jersey state senate has passed Senate Bill S-766. Wine drinkers will be closely watching to see how the New Jersey State House will vote on a similar bill, Bill A-1702.

In a written opinion article on the Daily Record.com Richard Nieuwenhuis, President of the New Jersey Farm Bureau writes, “With currently 39 vineyards scattered throughout the state, wine lovers might well follow the wine trails from vineyard to vineyard, tasting and purchasing. But, once having done that, they don’t necessarily want to make further trips to the wineries to replenish their stock. They want to be able to go online or make a call and get that wine shipped to them.”

After visiting many wineries, when I find a wine I enjoy I would like to have the opportunity and convenience to purchase wine online. How about you?

Cheers! Kathy
