On Sunday, January 29 a special wine tasting will take place in Chicago, the Catholic Charities 11th Annual d’Vine Affair.
From 1pm to 2pm, an Exclusive Pre-Tasting Guided Tour takes place. For an extra fee, guests can attend the pre-tasting.
Wine-Appreciation Seminars will be offered between 1:30pm and 2pm and from 2pm to 2:30pm. Patrick Fegan, Founder of the Chicago Wine School and Bob Bansberg, a sommelier will present these seminars.
Between 2pm and 6pm, guests will be able to taste numerous wines from the 250 available. Many wine brands will be represented.
Included in this Annual D’Vine Affair tasting is a Silent Auction. Items for the auction include wines, wine accessories and food experiences. The proceeds from the Silent Auction benefit the Self-Sufficiency Programs at Catholic Charities.
At 5pm a raffle drawing takes place. Prizes include wines and a case of Montaudon Champagne.
For a special fee, the evening ends with dinner at Quartino Ristorante. Guests can participate in a four-course dinner.

About Self-Sufficiency Programs
Several programs are offered which help with assisting the poor to become self sufficient. This help includes education, training and employment assistance for families. Another program is Shelter Services whose services include helping those in need with basic needs, social services and counseling. Forever Free helps women and children who are recovering from substance abuse. New Hope Apartments provides help and housing for homeless families for 24 months. These families receive intensive case management that includes employment assistance, childcare, transportation, rental assistance and more.
