The past three or four weeks we have spent a lot of time visiting wineries on the east and west coasts. We have been able to talk with owners and winemakers about the story of their vineyards and winery.

Surprisingly when we mention House Bill 5034, many were not aware of this bill which conflicts with the interest of wineries that want to ship wines. It’s a very important piece of legislation that has the potential to affect wineries throughout the country. Somehow HB 5034 has slipped under the doormat while everyone has been concerned about the latest news headlines.

If you own a winery or are involved with marketing wine, be sure to read about HR 5034. It is expected to reach the Judiciary committee sometime in June. The proponents of the bill are already asking legislators to support the bill.
