Eat•Drink•Go LOCAL in Maryland

Summer is a great time to enjoy eating and drinking local for both residents and tourists. What better way to enjoy farm fresh grown products and local wines? The Maryland Wineries Association is helping to support local foods and local wines with Eat•Drink•Go LOCAL events this year.

As we talk with winemakers and winery owners around the country, we hear comments about how people like to eat local but frequently don’t ask about local wines. Be sure to ask about local foods and wines that are locally produced.

Frequently heard comments from consumers include, “I didn’t know there were local wineries.” How better to encourage eat and drink local than by three special events in Maryland. The state has 44 wineries with more anticipated. The Maryland Wineries Association is working with local farmers, local wineries and local chefs to promote eating and drinking local.

Three special eat and drink local events, Eat•Drink•Go LOCAL are taking place this year in three separate regions of the state including Frederick, North Beach and Silver Spring.

July 9, Carroll Creek Park in Frederick
August 13, Downtown North Beach
October 22, Downtown Silver Spring

Plan on attending these special events whether you are a local resident or a traveler. Discover the food and wines produced in Maryland. To learn more about Maryland Wines visit the Maryland Wineries Association website.

During the summer, travel to Maryland’s wineries and check out their wines and events. Articles about individual Maryland wineries are available on the Wine Trail Traveler website.

Cheers! Kathy
