West Virginia’s Mountain Heritage Arts & Crafts Festival

West Virginia’s Mountain Heritage Arts & Crafts Festival is this weekend from Friday, September 23 thru Sunday September 25.

Held only two times each year, the West Virginia’s Mountain Heritage Arts & Crafts Festival is definitely an event to plan on attending this weekend. In addition to many, many art and crafts vendors, eight West Virginia wineries will be at the event to share wine tastings with visitors.

The West Virginia wineries to be included in this weekend’s festival are

  • Forks of Cheat Winery (Wine Trail Traveler article)
  • Heston Farm Winery & Distillery
  • Kenco Farms
  • Kirkwood Winery
  • Potomac Highland Winery
  • Vu Ja De Vineyards
  • Watts Roost Vineyard (Wine Trail Traveler article)
  • West-Whitehill Winery

In addition to the wineries at this festival, visitors can enjoy a wide range of crafts and arts. Approximately 200 arts and crafts vendors will be at this festival. While the wineries are all located in West Virginia, artists and crafters are from several states in addition to West Virginia. Other states represented are Alabama, Florida, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia and more.

Live music includes performances by Bill Emerson and Sweet Dixie, Hillbilly Gypsies, Patent Pending, and Dan Paisley & Southern Grass.

Children’s activities available will include Appalachian crafts and workshops. Check the festival’s website for more information.

Planning to attend?  Tickets are $7 for adults, children (6-17) are $4, and children under 6 are free. Visit the website to receive a $1 off coupon!

The Mountain Heritage Arts & Crafts Festival is a great event to do some serious Christmas and holiday shopping. Enjoy a day at the festival near Harpers Ferry, West Virginia.

Cheers! Kathy
