Clairette de die Cuvée Impériale for Thanksgiving Day

This low alcohol sparkling wine should be on your Thanksgiving wine list. The sparkling wine is a blend of mostly Muscat and some Clairette. With its slightly sweet taste, consider pouring a glass of this sparkling wine as Thanksgiving Day guests arrive. The straw colored wine has an aroma of orange blossoms and honeysuckle. There is orange and lemon on the taste. The finish is cleansing.

In America, Thanksgiving Day foods pose many challenges to any wine. I was thinking of what the Clairette de die Cuvée Impériale would pair well with. Kathy’s mother’s cranberry relish comes to mind.

Mom Linck would add orange juice and orange peel to the cranberries for Thanksgiving Day dinner. She would also sweeten the cranberry relish. Put this relish on a piece of turkey and pair with the Clairette de die Cuvée Impériale for a wonderful explosion of food and wine. Because it is a sparkling wine, your palate will be cleansed and ready for the next course. We tend to eat early on Thanksgiving Day. By evening we’re looking for a snack. A fresh baked roll, turkey and cranberry-orange relish would pair nicely with the  Clairette de die Cuvée Impériale.

Clairette de die Cuvée Impériale is produced by Jaillance. Vineyards are located in south eastern France in the Drôme district.

Cheers,
Terry
