North Fork Craft Beer BBQ & Wine Festival Supports Cancer Research

So you enjoy wine, but she or he prefers beer or perhaps hard cider. At this Long Island festival you can satisfy everyone. The North Fork Craft Beer BBQ & Wine Festival is also an opportunity to support charities.

Long Island’s North Fork Craft Beer BBQ & Wine Festival, a charity event, takes place August 11, 2012. This event is also known as Long Island’s Premier Festival.

Current wineries to be involved are Palmer Vineyards, Osprey’s Dominion Vineyards and Peconic Bay Winery. More than 50 breweries are scheduled. Some of these include Brooklyn Brewery, Black Forest Brew Haus, Peak Organic Brewing Company, and Dundee Ales & Lagers. At least five cider makers will be in attendance with their hard ciders. Look for Magners Irish Cider, Woodchuck Draft Cider, Angry Orchard Hard Cider, McKenzie’s Hard Cider and Doc’s Draft Hard Ciders.

Ticket admissions include a choice of a BBQ sandwich and one side. Other items will be available for purchase. Ticket holders can choose one North Carolina BBQ Pulled Pork, Smoked Chicken Chili, Alabama Style BBQ Pulled Chicken or Vegetarian Beans. Also included is one side from the following list: Smoked Beans, Herb Crushed Potato or Cole Slaw. Many additional food items are available for purchase.

Charities Supported

This large Long Island festival benefits the following charities: The Beer for Brains Foundation, The Kent Animal Shelter and The Terry Farrell Firefighters Fund. According to The Beer for Brains Foundation website, the foundation is committed to

  • Raising public awareness about brain cancer
  • Engendering compassion for its victims and
  • Helping fund groundbreaking research leading to a cure.

So attend the festival enjoy food, beer, wine or cider while helping charities.
