On Saturday, September 1, visitors can enjoy a visit to Maryland’s bucolic countryside to discover and tour apple orchards as well as taste ciders.
This Labor Day weekend, Distillery Lane Ciderworks, is hosting its “First Press of the Season” event on Saturday from 10am until 6pm and is for the whole family to enjoy. In addition to scheduled events, visitors can enjoy live music, apple pressing demonstrations and food from South Mountain Creamery and JB Seafood.
The schedule is:
- Guided orchard tours: 10:30, 2:00, and 4:30
- Self-guided tours of the farm: all day
- Live entertainment: Woo-Yeahs 10:00-2:00 and Matt McGinn 2:00-6:00
- Bee keeping demonstrations by Rick Nestler: 1:00 and 3:30
- Presentations on the Civil War history of the farm: 11:00 and 3:00
- Cider tastings: all day
Wine Trail Traveler enjoyed visiting and writing an article about Distillery Lane Ciderworks last year. Early this spring a family member enjoyed taking a daylong cider making class at DLC. Check out what DLC has to offer.
