Slack Winery at Woodlawn Farm, Maryland
On Sunday, April 21 from 12Noon to 6pm Slack Winery at Woodlawn Farm is hosting Terry and Kathy Sullivan for a book signing of A Wine Journey. Enjoy talking with this friendly couple as they share their experiences with visitors. Please come with your own winery stories to share. A Wine Journey may just encourage you to take your first steps into making wine at home.
When you visit Slack Winery at Woodlawn Farm in southern Maryland, you will want to take the day and enjoy the stunning views of the Potomac River from the porch of the Manor House. Slack wines include white, rosé, red and sparkling wines. Both dry and sweet wines are produced at Slack Winery.
The site is both winery tasting room and the Maryland Woodlawn Estate Bed & Breakfast. The history of the Manor House is long. It was part of the first land grant, Trinity Manor, by Lord Baltimore to the first Governor of the Maryland Colony, Leonard Calvert. The original manor house did not survive the American Revolution. A new manor house was constructed c. 1798. This large well-maintained manor house sits on the banks of the Potomac River.
When visiting take time to walk gently through the colonial-style garden adjacent to the Manor House. Visitors may want to be prepared to take photos of the Manor House and beautiful views of the Potomac River.
We hope to see you at Slack Winery at Woodlawn Farm on Sunday, April 21.
