A Heartland Wine Trail Features Cookies

Spyglass Ridge

Spyglass Ridge

In anticipation of the holidays, several wine trails are hosting special holiday events. One such wine trail is the Susquehanna Heartland Wine Trail.

The Heartland Christmas event features cookies. Remember those good, old days when the scent of cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and vanilla filled the house? Perhaps you were arriving home from school or work and  walking into the kitchen grabbing a cookie warm off the cookie sheet and a glass of milk.

In the celebration of homemade cookies, the members of the  Susquehanna Heartland Wine Trail will celebrate with recipes and cookie cutters. At the first winery, participants will receive a grapevine wreath and wine glass plus a cookie cutter and a recipe.

Heartland Christmas Cookie Event Dates

The cookie event takes place on three weekends and includes November 19-20, November 27-28 and December 3-4.

Tickets are a reasonable $15 and may be purchased at participating wineries or online. Note that the tickets are good for all three weekends.

While picking up your cookie cutters and recipes, check out and taste the wines. You may want to purchase wines that you want to serve with your holiday meals. Plan to spend some time in your kitchen baking some of these “sure to be good” cookies!
