Discover the International Aroma Wine winners of 2013 at the Canterbury A&P Show in New Zealand.
For 11 years, New Zealand has offered an International Aroma Wine Competition. The Aroma Wine Competition focuses on the wine varieties that are considered aromatic. Wine varieties eligible for the competition include Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, Gewürztraminer, Muscat, Verdeldo, Sauvignon Gris, Viognier and Arneis. The purpose of the competition is to focus attention on the best commercially made wines available.
The award winning wines will be displayed as part of the Canterbury A&P Show. The submitted wines will be judged on October 12 and October 13.
The Canterbury A&P Show takes place from November 13 to November 15. Tickets for the Canterbury A&P Show are available online and at the gate. The popular Canterbury A&P Show began in 1863. Today the show attracts 100,000 visitors.
According to the Canterbury A&P Show website, “The Canterbury A&P Show is jam packed with livestock, entertainment and attractions, indoor and outdoor exhibits, feature marquees and pavilions. It’s where country comes to town in a spectacular mix of colour, excitement and competition – a true celebration of everything great in New Zealand.”
The show offers numerous vendors, entertainment and animal showings. Animal showings include cattle, dog trials, horse & pony, alpacas, llamas, Angora goats, Boer goats, pigs, sheep and poultry. Entertainment includes: helicopter rides, JCL FMX Champs, a Discovery Trail for children, machinery parade, NZ Army Band, Construction Industry Demos and Shearing.
