Some wine travelers expect to see vineyards next to winery tasting rooms. It is important to keep in mind that winegrowing and winemaking are two different businesses. When tasting a wine, ask where the grapes were sourced. The wine could be made with grapes on the property, down the road or up to thousands of miles away.
