Heritage Vineyards & Guest HouseSummary: Heritage Vineyards is a boutique family owned and run winery and vineyard located in Warsaw, Ohio. This beautful country setting also offers a guesthouse if one desires staying overnight close to a vineyard.

Located in Warsaw, Ohio, Heritage Vineyards is 3.5 miles from U.S. Route 36. Travelers to the Heritage Vineyards tasting room will pass the vineyards first as the tasting room is at the back of the property. The vineyard is situated on the slope in front of the Endsleys' home. Across from their home is a Guest House available for rental year round. The location of the tasting room is well suited for events including outdoor weddings or small indoor weddings.

Heritage Vineyards & Guest HouseThe Vineyards

The Endsley family established Heritage Vineyards in 2000. The three acres of vineyards include Niagara, Chambourcin, Traminette and Seyval Blanc. Originally the grapes were sold to other wineries. Eventually the family decided that they should make wine and open a tasting room, which also offers a delightful venue for events. From the vineyards one can see a lighthouse on the church property across the road. This too adds to the tranqulity of the area.

Tasting Room

The owners, Tina and Randy Endsley, opened the tasting room in April 2009. Randy’s interest is in growing and maintaining the vineyard. Their sons and daughters-in-law are also involved with the winery. Brent Endsley is the winemaker and Brandon is the business manager.

The winery, tasting room and gathering room are encompassed in one modern-style, single story building. The light gray building with white trim blends in well with the surrounding countryside. The tasting room has considerable space for visitors with a small wood-burning stove that must add coziness to the room during Ohio’s cold weather. A few wine related accessories are available for purchase.

Events

From the first Saturday in June through Labor Day weekend, Heritage Vineyards features a Grill Your Own Steak Dinner. Reservations are required. The winery also has private events including weddings and bridal showers.

Adjacent to the tasting room is a Gathering Room. This event room will hold up to 50 people and is available for private parties. The wood floor, fireplace and ceiling fans all add to the ambiance of the room.

Heritage Vineyards & Guest HouseWines

We tasted several wines at the modern style tasting counter. Vidal Blanc offered a floral aroma with notes of honeysuckle. There were nuances of citrus and tropical fruit on the taste. The crisp finish was fruity. Lighthouse was produced with red fruit and had a red fruit aroma. It was slightly sweet. This wine would pair well with barbeque entrees. Chambourcin had a sienna color. This crisp wine offered nuances of red cherries.

Twilight Blush had a peach-skin color. The aroma reminded one of Catawba grapes. The taste had Catawba notes with peach nuances. The finish was crisp with a fruity aftertaste. Niagara was sweet with a crisp finish that cuts the sweetness. Heritage Vineyards provided Wine Trail Traveler with a recipe for Niagara Sangria using their Niagara wine.

Heritage Vineyard Guest House

The guesthouse is situated a short distance away, between the tasting room and the vineyards. If you are considering a lingering stay in the beautiful Ohio countryside, you may want to check the Heritage Vineyard Guest House availability. The house has a kitchen, two bedrooms, and best of all a wrap-around porch.

Enjoy a visit to Heritage Vineyard and consider attending one of their events Friday or Saturday during the summer.
